Open Access
Most researchers at Australian and New Zealand universities can publish Open Access articles with us for zero cost. But why should we publish Open Access? What is Open Access?
Open Access publication can help you, the author, reach the broadest possible audience. Too much scholarly research is locked behind paywalls, and we don’t like it. Open Access facilitates unrestricted access to scholarly research. Academia needs to move to an Open Access publishing model as it has the potential to increase the reach of all that we publish while not compromising on our values of peer review and high scholarly standards. All our publications – Open Access or subscription access have been and will always be subject to the same rigorous peer review process.
Last decade we were part of a conference with the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL). The conference was about how we as a sector could accelerate the move towards Open Access in Australia and New Zealand. This has resulted in many publishers developing and implementing Read and Publish Agreements.
Read and Publish Agreements
- Read and Publish Agreements mean that your institution (typically a university) funds the cost of publication in our Open Access options.
- Eligibility is determined by email address.
